Incident management training for an Asian police unit
We delivered improvised explosive device (IED) specific incident management training for the law enforcement branch of a major south east Asian nation to help mitigate a domestic terror threat.
The training included how to approach and operate around improvised explosive devices, command and control, crowd management and intelligence assessment and support. We also advised on tools and technologies that would be required to effectively deal with such incidents at the strategic and tactical levels, improving the capabilities of these units in the long term.
Outcomes
- Improved capability in carrying out tactical operations for suspected or confirmed explosive devices
- A better understanding of crowd management and command and control in evacuations
- Understanding of common crisis management frameworks and approaches for strategic leadership
- Identification of tools and technologies which could help in dealing with an IED threat
