Whistleblowing allegation investigated at major distribution facility
Our investigations team were instructed to investigate a whistleblowing allegation in a major distribution facility.
It was claimed that staff members were involved in stealing of goods and items from within the premises, and selling these on with staff receiving kickbacks.
The process
Our team conducted an extensive investigation, this involved reviewing data, time logs, and other material evidence.
We also conducted numerous witness interviews with staff members, and analysed digital material to establish a timeline of events, and conducted a site visit which identified vulnerabilities which could be exploited.
Following our investigation, evidence was identified against several parties, who were removed from their positions. Measures were put in place to prevent future offending.
Outcomes
- Removal of staff involved in illicit activities.
- Deterrent for staff to conduct future offending.
- Measures put in place to reduce the risk of offending, and additional accountability for staff and management to assist with identification of future criminality.
